On Thursday, it was revealed in the conference of the 10th China Satellite Navigation that China is expecting the satellites navigation industry output value would surpass US $57.9 billion in 2020.
The director of the office of China’s satellite navigation Ran Chengqi said that presently they are building the industry chain that is made up of basic products of BDS (Bei Dou Navigation Satellite System), application systems and terminals and services of operations. The industry’s output value used to be more than 43.4 billion US dollars last year, said Ran. BDS that was alone built and operated by China is planning for providing high quality timing services, navigation and positioning for global users.
As per the China Science Daily on Thursday, China would be launching the international English journal titled Satellite Navigation. The journal is made by the Springer Nature and the Aerospace Information Research Institute.
The journal is accepting submissions and it is expected to officially get published in the month of October. They will publish the journal in the format of open access and it can be acquired free of cost once it is published. It would focus on the most recent technical applications and theoretical development in the satellite navigation field. The journal would publish reviews and original papers on areas like methods of anti-jamming, signal processing, satellite navigation, geoscience and satellite orbit determination.
An academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences who is also the deputy chief designer of the Satellite Navigation Systemin Beidou, Yang Yuanxi would be the journal’s chief editor.
The editorial board of the journal would invite experts from countries like US, Germany, Canada, Japan, UK, and Finland. Satellite navigation is a technology that involves aviation, engineering, and geodesy. The technology is extremely important for establishing a scientific communication and research platform that could bring together scientists and researchers from different fields, said Yang.
